spice up your life!

This little cupboard gives me so much joy! During our quarantine last March, I decided to spend more time cooking at home. Well, I guess I should say we were forced to eat at home more. I've never been much of a cook; I can make a mean taco salad but don't ask me to make anything too complicated! This cupboard became a junk drawer version of spices, baking, and anything in between.

I decided it was time to make some healthier lifestyle changes for my little family and me. I found my new favorite cookbook. Check it out HERE. After I found a love for cooking at home, this cupboard needed some SERIOUS help!

I started by taking everything out and seeing what I had. I had duplicates of some spices, expired of lots of others, and plenty of messes. I tossed the expired spices, combined any duplicates, and wiped everything down. I wrote down anything that I needed to buy from the store to add to my stock. I'm super lucky; when they were building our house, they added this spice drawer to our plan that they didn't know about.

I keep all my daily spices in these tin containers for easy access. Super easy to use and find when cooking and baking! Here is where you can find the containers. You can make labels to attach to the top of each canister.

Even the most organized people have that one messy cupboard!

I used a turntable to store all my extra spices. Before, they were just thrown on the shelf, taking up lots of room, and I couldn't see what I had or needed. This way, I can easily grab one and refill my tins. I store my large spices to the side. On the bottom shelf, I used my favorite room essentials trays for my baking items. Then I have my random items placed on the sides, such as cookbooks, salt, large spices, and vanilla.

I hope you found this helpful! Let me know if you have any questions!!
